The property consists of 36 +/- acres with a beautiful 1,792-square-foot cabin that is surrounded by timber and tucked deep within the Wilderness Ranch perimeters. The land is located along Routt Forest Loop which is a cul-de-sac, meaning the property is well secluded with very few public presence, which results in very relaxing getaway for several seasons. The land consists of rolling timber terrain with an open bench with meadows near the back of the property and is fenced on 3 sides. As you enter the property, a grass surrounded lounging area with a firepit is featured just along the driveway, and then continues to wrap around the cabin with several places for parking. The cabin is encompassed by thick aspen trees, numerous kinds of bushes and shrubs, and has few pine trees dispersed throughout the remainder of the property. There is a pump-fed pond located right out the back door of the cabin that also feeds into 2 other small ponds. With the essentials of plentiful vegetation, a few different water sources, and thick cover, many species of wildlife can be found residing throughout the land in the spring and summer until the later months force them to move to lower elevations! In certain areas of the property, one is able to see remarkable views of the lower valley and numerous nearby mountains such as Mount Welba, Mount Oliphant, Bakers Peak, Little Emerson Peak, Long Mountain, and even as far as Bible Back Mountain! Located in GMU 4, the property has had very successful hunting in the early seasons and is within close proximity of the Routt National Forest. With several different access points located in less than an hour away, one has the opportunity to spend a days worth of fishing the alpine lakes and streams, hiking or off-roading the countless different trails and nearby mountain peaks, or even just exploring the wilderness! In the winter, snowmobiling is a popular attraction to the surrounding area! Over-the-counter elk tags are available for private land only in 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons as well. Craig, CO provides the nearest grocery stores, hardware stores, hospital, restaurants, and gas stations and is located approximately 1 hour southwest of the property. Baggs, WY also has gas stations with convenient stores and small restaurants and is just under 1 hour to the northwest. The closest airport that provides commercial flying is Yampa Valley Regional Airport and is located in Hayden, CO which is roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes southeast of the land. Steamboat Springs, CO offers many similar amenities as Craig, plus additional attractions such as skiing, rafting, and small local shops, and is located an additional 30 minutes past Hayden. |
